Cascade Pass & Sahale Glacier Guided Backpacking
Let's backpack Together
Three Days of Remarkable PNW Landscapes in the North Cascades
Are you ready for (3) days of backpacking with new friends through stunning meadows + valleys to a series of sub-alpine basins, offering wild views of jagged peaks and ancient glaciers!?
I have partnered directly with my FAVORITE Guiding Operator (Wildland Trekking) for this all-women adventure trip.
NO BACKPACKING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! This trip is PERFECT for brand new backpackers or women who have backpacked before.
We will be accompanied by (2) badass professional guides to show us the way and be with us the entire time & teaching us about the area, even preparing fresh meals for us.
Yep, no dehydrated meals out of a bag!
High stoke travel with like-minded adventurers
This trip is for women who want to...
- Adventure, explore, backpack, camp, or and travel but don’t have anyone to go with.
- Step into the outdoor space and learn, but may not have the gear or know where to start.
- Not worry about planing the trip + logistics, but rather, have that already done for them.
- Chase high-stoke days with women from all different backgrounds.
- Meet new outdoorsy friends and build long-lasting community on trail.
Meet your host
I’m Bethany, your highly-caffeinated adventure trip host and stoke woman.
I’ve been hosting these incredible, life-changing trips all over the US and world for 4ish years. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing brave women from all experience levels step outside their comfort zones, learn how to set up tents for the first time, and see what their bodies and minds are capable of on trail. How COOL is that?
Getting to Seattle & Lodging:
✅ Field Guide Page 1:
You will fly into Seattle (SEA)!
You will need to arrive on September 24th by the late afternoon because our Welcome Dinner + Logistics and Gear Meeting starts at 5 PM!
You are welcome to stay wherever you’d like the night of the 24th.
However, Wildland Trekking recommends the Best Western Seattle Airport Hotel because that is where our Logistics/Gear Meeting will be held and where we leave from the morning of the 25th.
**Booking a room at the Best Western through Wildland is available as an add-on ($203.49) up until 30 days before the trip. You can contact Wildland after you book your spot to add this on!
If you stay somewhere other than the Best Western on the night of the 24th, you will just need to get yourself to the hotel at 5PM and then at the set time the morning of the 25th. 🙂
✅ Field Guide Page 2:
If you have extra luggage that you are not taking with you on trail, you can store that luggage at the Best Western!
After our adventure is sadly done on the 27th, we will head back to the Best Western Seattle Airport Hotel.
You are welcome to book your flight home late that evening. We are projected to get back to the hotel later afternoon/early evening so please ensure the flight is later in the evening/night.
We cannot guarantee we will be back by a certain time so please be mindful if you are booking a flight out on the 27th.
**You can also add-on a post trip hotel room at the Best Western for $193.36. You can contact Wildland to add this on!
There is a free hotel shuttle from SEATAC to/from the Best Western that you can utilize.
What's Included, Itinerary & Tipping:
What's the game plan:
Click this link to check out the full itinerary!
It covers what we will do each day (mileage wise) and some additional information on what’s included.
You will be provided a full in-depth packing list and guidance on anything you have questions when it comes to gear or just general questions if this is your first backpacking trip.
How exciting, by the way!
If you have extra PTO, this is an awesome opportunity to rent a car (before or after) and check out Olympic National Park, Rainier National Park, and the rest of the North Cascades!
Our Guides & Tipping:
We will have (2) badass guides with us and their tips are NOT included. Tipping the guides is greatly appreciated! Wildland guides, and outdoor/backcountry guides in general, do much more than lead guests down the trail.
Although supported by amazing in-town staff, they often work independently in the field due to permit and logistical constraints.
The guide is responsible for the group’s safety, menu planning (including dietary restrictions), cooking for the group, prepping and taking care of the gear, driving, complying with government regulations, ensuring guest satisfaction, and generally making sure the tour runs smoothly. They wear many hats and are extraordinary at what they do!
The industry standard tip amount for hiking and backpacking guides is between 10-20% of the trip cost per person. This will be split between the guides.
More Trip Details!
What are the age ranges?
These trips have women ranging in ages 25-55! How cool is that?
Do I have to pay all at once? Payment plans?
There will be a $250 deposit to reserve your spot and you can pay as you go (as much as you want at a time) on your Wildland Trekking account. The remainder of your payment is due 60 days prior to the trip. The deposit is refundable minus $50 fee if you cancel outside of the 60 trip window.
Do most people come as strangers?
Yes! Which is the BEST part because you will walk away with new rad friends. I would say 95% of travelers come solo and don’t know anyone else on the trip. 🙂
What gear is included?
You will be provided a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, solo tent, multi-day pack, and trekking poles!
You will need to bring your personal items, clothes, headlamp, and water bladder (filtered water provided daily). Don’t worry – you will get a FULL packing list.
You can bring your own gear, but it will not change the cost of the trip. 🙂
What meals are provided? Dietary accommodations?
Fresh meals will be made on trail each day! Our Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant is also included! Dietary accommodations (gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc.) can be accommodated and you will inform Wildland Trekking ahead of time.
Are the local guides medically trained?
They sure are! They are all Certified Wilderness First Responders.
We will have (2) local guides that are experts in the area and will be the ones driving the van(s), coordinating all the logistics, cooking all the meals together, and teaching us about the local area.
Do I need travel insurance?
It is not required, but it’s recommended!
Will a training plan be provided? How heavy are the packs we will be carrying?
If you’d like, you can request my 12-week DB training program as well as Step-Up eBook to ensure you feel strong going into the trip!
However, it’s highly recommended to start training now. 🙂
The Lyss Method and Black Iron Training VERT are incredible training programs.
Our pack weight will range anywhere from ~35-40lbs.
Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Heck yeah! Leading up to the trip, you will provide Wildland Trekking any dietary restrictions you have and they will cater the menu to accommodate.
Do I need to have backpacking experience?
Nope! ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS ARE WELCOME! There is so much room for learning on these trips and it’s PERFECT for first-timers or experienced backpackers.
When do I need to arrive?
Check out the lodging section above!
Pre + post lodging is not included, but many travelers will share rooms to split the cost. 🙂
Will there be a group chat?
Yes! ~3-4 months out, a group chat will be started where everyone can virtually meet, chat about sharing hotel rooms before/after, asking questions, and sharing the stoke!
